| Buffer Technologies FN-FAL / L1A1 Recoil Buffer
The FN-FAL Recoil Buffer™ fits in the back of the upper reciever of any FAL type rifle and prevents the bolt carrier from slamming into the back of the lower receiver. This includes Belgian FN-FALs, DSA FALs, British L1A1 rifles and all similar models. Works in both fixed stock and Para models, both metric and inch pattern. Installation takes less than a minute and can be done without any special tools. Each time you fire your rifle the gas system propels the bolt carrier to the rear very violently, which generates a shock wave that is absorbed by the metal receiver. After a period of time, this repeated pounding causes increased wear on internal parts. The most notable side effect of this is the difficulty one has in controlling the weapon during rapid fire. By installing a Recoil Buffer™ you totally eliminate the metal to metal impact of the bolt carrier to the receiver and most of the action noise. This is even more valuable for for reducing wear in newer rifles such as some of the DSA FNs that have aluminum lower recievers instead of steel. Also reduces vibration transmitted to weapon mounted optics.
Those whose who install a recoil buffer into their FNs will not only be protecting their investment by prolonging its service life, but they will also experience recoil reduction and muzzle stability is increased.
