| Threaded Gas Lock for Springfield Armory SOCOM 16
This gas lock made by Smith Enterprise Inc is a drop-in replacement for the factory gas lock on the SOCOM 16 rifle. It includes a dovetail front sight base and is threaded with 9/16 x 24 RH threads on the muzzle end for the attachment of various aftermarket flash hiders and muzzle brakes. Allows for use of more effective muzzle attachments than the one piece factory muzzle brake/gas lock and is a great way to maximize the performance of your SOCOM 16 and to customize its look as well. This part is made of stressproof steel by SEI which is machined to exacting tolerances and then hardened for durability under extreme use. It has a parkarized finish.
The front sight base on this gas lock is slightly higher than on the factory SOCOM 16 gas lock, which allows the use of standard M1A and M14 front sights to include standard mil-spec sights, night sights and National Match front sights. Factory XS sights that come on the SOCOM-16 are too tall for this front sight base and will cause your rounds to shoot low. The 9/16 x 24 RH thread pattern on the muzzle end allows the fitting of a variety of high quality after market muzzle attachments with matching threads such as SEI SOCOM muzzle brake in 9/16x24 and the FSC Custom Muzzle Brake in 9/16x24 which are both available in our muzzle brake catagory.
This part is machined and timed to exacting tolerances in order to fit very tightly and securely on your SOCOM-16 for the ultimate rock solid assembly.
