This muzzle brake fits standard M-14 / M1A 7.62mm/.308 cal. rifles or M1A Scout models by mounting directly to the barrel without using the standard front sight assembly or castle nut.  The M14 / M1A barrel threads are uncommon and this is one of the few muzzle brakes that will fit directly onto those threads.  Screwing the muzzle brake directly onto the barrel makes for a simpler and stronger attachment, and has positive effects on accuracy. This muzzle break was designed to give the look of the popular SEI vortex flash suppressor, but to act as a muzzle break effectively controlling recoil and muzzle jump. It is a very effective design with 4 rows of ports with 3 ports per row, an internal expansion chamber and a .342 cal. exit hole that is optimized for .308 cal bullets.  It is very effective at reducing recoil and stabilizing the rifle in recoil to keep sights on target for rapid follow up shots.  An excellent value for a high quality and extremely strong muzzle brake.  It is precision machined from 8620 steel and heat treated for maximum service life and provided with a mil-spec parkerized finish.  This muzzle brake compliments the SEI M14 gas lock dovetail front sight bases which allow you to mount the front sight on the gas lock instead of at the muzzle.  Very simple installation which does NOT require any washers or jam nuts for alignment.  Threaded for standard M14/M1A barrel threads.
