Sprinco M-4 Carbine / AR-15 Carbine Extra Power Buffer Spring (Recoil Spring)
This Chrome Silicon recoil spring is made by Sprinco USA to the highest quality standards available. It is stress relieved for long service life and Moly-Plated for corrosion resistance. These springs last for an incredibly long time and do not lose their strength. Test samples of these springs have been tested for over 100,000 rounds in an M-4 Carbine without a measureable deterioration in power, performance or reliability.
The extra power spring is for weapons that need additional spring power to improve the cycling of the weapon. Many AR-15 and M-4 varients with either a standard gas system or a piston system are over-gassed causing very rapid extraction and ejection and bolt carrier speeds that are too high. This can result in increased wear on parts, breakage of parts and reliability problems. An extra-power buffer spring can help to slow down the bolt carrier's rearward motion and also drive it forward with more authority to reliably chamber a new round in a dirty weapon.
Designed to work in any AR-15 or M-4 .223/5.56mm type rifle with a collapsible butt stock configuration. Also very useful with larger cartridges used in the AR-15 platform such as 6.8 SPC, 6.5 Grendel, .30 Rem AR, 7.62x39, .458 SOCOM, .50 Beowulf, .450 Bushmaster, etc.
