I spent quite some time deciding on a compensator for my Remington 700 AAC. In the end I obviously went with this one. There many reasons for choosing this compensator: 1. I like how the compensator is a bit more streamlined that some of the competitors, not quite so bulky. 2. The company was extremely easy to deal with, my order was at my doorstep within 3 days of ordering it (FL to CA) and when I called to ask a question about the shipping method, a real English speaking person with a heartbeat answered the phone and was able to give me the information I needed in a clear and friendly manor. (Odd isn’t it?) 3. After receiving it I pulled my rifle out and had it mounted within 10min. The shim kit that it came with worked perfectly, for some reason I prefer the shims instead of a crush washer, just seems like a better solution to me. 4. Feel comfortable knowing that the shims are COMPLETELY hidden in the recessed area of the compensator, just like advertised. 5. I put about 80 rounds downrange in one sitting since purchasing this compensator and contrary what some people think about needing one for a .308, it does help and thanks to whoever designed this compensator it looks cool while doing it. And since my rifle came with a threaded barrel I needed something, just doesn’t look right having a cap on there. 6. If I had to guess I would think it took about 40% to 50% of the recoil out. 7. I was surprised that the report wasn’t much too much louder than the rifle without the compensator. What I and the other people I was shooting with did notice however was that the report was sharper almost piercing. But overall the report from the rifle was more than bearable using standard hearing protection. 8. If you are torn between this and another compensator, I can tell you that you will not be disappointed spending the money on this one, you most definitely get what you pay for and what they advertise as far as performance.
