Smith Enterprise M14/M1A Gas Lock with Front Sight Dovetail for 18" Barrels

This gas lock made by Smith Enterprise Inc is a billet machined drop-in replacement for the factory gas lock on M1A Scout or Scout Squad type rifles or other M1A rifles with 18" Barrels. It includes a dovetail front sight base that is at the correct height for 18" barrels. Works with mil-spec M14 front sights as well as the SEI National Match, Tritium Bar and Tritium Dot front sights. Allows the mounting of the front sight on the gas lock instead of at the end of the barrel as with the factory flash hider assembly. Is perfect if you want to use a muzzle device screwed directly on the barrel such as the SEI M14 DC muzzle brake or Vortex flash hider. This part is billet machined from 8620 of stressproof steel by SEI which is machined to exacting tolerances for a rock solid lock up and then heat treated for durability under extreme use. It has an extremely durable and good looking Salt Bath Nitride matte black finish.
